Re: Some advices to my costume?
Thanks for great advices - did not know that something like ice vest exists - worth considering.
I have another question - do you know the RAL number of the RG color? I have purchased three spray colors for my helmet, but not sure if I got the right one.
I got shiny ruby one, then RAL 3020 (seems the closest one), and shiny fire red color (RAL 3000). Any advice about this one? (I also got the base color for the helmet). Did you cover the helmet by another layer of paint finish (transparent one)?
PS. I finally tried Force Unleashed game and the RG with red parts of the armor and especially Shadow guard look great!! I think I got idea for the next costume.

I don't know the RAL number for the paint I used but it was Krylon Cherry Red Gloss. I used that after a few layers of grey automotive primer. I did a lot of wetsanding and then I covered it with a protective layer. Honestly I want to re-sand the whole helmet down and make it look even better but at this point...it's fine

Re: Some advices to my costume?
When I give the ice vest a go I will post up how it holds up, it is like these ones here.

They are not cheap but if they work I will consider purchasing one.

I say always paint to the shade of the velvet that you have purchased.

Re: Some advices to my costume?
Well, I gave the belt back to the tailor to reduce its size.
Received the high boots just to find out that I cannot put it on (horse riding boots are not for big legs - jockeys are not supposed to be big guys) - will have to cut it somehow and put some elastic input to be able to squeeze into it)
The foot is all right, but the top part of the boots is too tight (and I purchased the biggest size!).
The bigger kit of the helmet is painted by the basic color, will apply the red automobile paint this week and solve the visor.
Hopefully that will be all for this costume (will upgrade it later) to apply for 501st membership and I will be able to start with my summer costume.

If you go to a cobbler you can ask them to put a gusset into the boot. That is what I have to do for mine. I have 19" calfs and most boots just do not fit them.

Re: Some advices to my costume?
Yes, that is what I meant by cutting it and adding some elastic input (something that will extend the size of upper boot - calf - when putting the boot on). The boot has the joint (where material connects) in the back so I think that is where it should be cut. But will leave that to professional.
Thanks for advice.

Re: Some advices to my costume?
Just for fun - My RG costume without helmet - how do I look off-duty?

(I had to show it as I am quite excited) - sorry for a bit off-topic. But maybe not - there are people with more than one costume - is there anyone who can give me advice about the costume? Did not find any forum dedicated to the Denizens of the Empire. Can somebody forward me there?
