Question about Shadow Guard Outfit
Posted: Wed Jul 23, 2014 4:45 pm
So I am wanting to build a shadow guard as my first outfit for joining the 501st. I have been pouring over the CRL's trying to make sure all the things that I have picked out are up to spec. However, as this being my first build, I would welcome the outside opinions of the other Sovereign Protectors to make sure I am doing this right.

Seamless fiberglass wearable helmet rendition, larger than the Don Post helmets and accurately proportioned, has FULLY padded and lined interior. This is not a cheap vacuum-form or delicate slush/roto-cast resin, it's fiberglass reinforced UV-cobalt cured polystyrene formulated resin, more like a hefty quality motorcycle helmet. The lens is 1-1/2 16"s (3/32) thick hard red thermo-formed acrylic.

MEETS and/or EXCEEDS 501st club costuming requirements. Seamless fiberglass museum quality wearable armor set. This is not cheap vacuum-form, it's fiberglass reinforced UV-cobalt cured polystyrene formulated resin, more like real armor. Made to order.

Yes, I do realize this is for inmate
My plans for this are to dye it jet black with dye and remove the one breast pocket. The question I have that I cannot seam to find the answer to is this: are buttons allowed? If they are then I will just replace the buttons with black ones and if not I was planning on sowing a length of Velcro or a zipper.

From my understanding this are the same type of gloves that the TIE pilots use for their 501st qualifications and it is virtually the same description for the shadow guards.

Pretty straightforward with this choice. Not a lot to question here.
Kama: this is being custom made for me by a sewing friend
Boots: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-German-EM- ... 4897.l4275
Before my account was approved, I was creeping around the site here and read several people mention that they use Jack Boots in place of English riding boots.
Saberpike: I am having a replica one made by Saber Concepts. I originally found they work on the FX saber website and was impressed by it. Waiting to hear back from them about cost though.
Robes: The only real difficult part that I am having trouble finding. Does anyone know of anyone that can make me a set? I cannot sew to save my life and the friend helping with the Kama won't be able to do the robes for me.
Well, that is about it. I would appreciate any feedback or opinions. Thanks again and can't wait to see you all out there.
