ABG1777's Royal Guard WIP

Post by abg1777 »

Got these boots in yesterday and removed the strap. They are women's size 13W and fit my size 11 foot. Not as bright red as I'd hoped but will work nicely until I can upgrade. What do you think?

Should be fine to use these... not like anyone really ever sees your boots other than the rest of the troopers you are getting kitted up with if your robes are the right length....

Very true. My robes are a little long right now actually. They are probably a few inches long. They drag the floor and I almost step on them. I'd like for them to be down to the floor covering the boots but not where they're dragging and I'm stepping on them. Taking them over to a friend's this weekend to see if I can get them hemmed up a bit.

And the boots are suede.

My outer robes sit about 0.5" - 1" at most off the ground... when I'm standing no one can see my boots. As for the stepping on them... when they are long you have to get used to walking a bit differently than you do in something like armor.

.5 - 1" sounds perfect. Mine are much longer than that right now but I'd like them to be .5' - 1" off the ground for walking purposes but I also want to make sure that my boots don't show when I'm standing.

Mine probably look similar to this right now:

But I'd like them to look like this standing:

Just an update on my Royal Guard build. Everything was completed on Saturday. I got the robes hemmed up and they look perfect. They are just long enough to touch the ground when I'm standing still and don't show my feet but not too long so that I am still able to walk in them. I'll try to post pics this week of the full costume. Just need to find someone to take the pics for me. Anxious to get the pics posted here for feedback and get them submitted to the 501st to come out of retired status.
