I've been watching this build thread closely. You have done amazing work. I just wanted to ask one thing.

I am building myself a pool cue pike (I have a metal pike coming in also). I have used Rustoleum rattle cans on my pool cue pike and was wondering if you have thought of how to stop silver wearing off've the pike and onto the robes (given the way we carry our pikes 99% of the time)? I have read somewhere some brand of liquid floor wax was a great way of protecting the pike and cutting down the chance of paint transference from the pike to the robes. (I thought I had read about it in this actual thread, but via quickly perusing the posts I seem to be mistaken). Would you have any ideas concerning this?
I used Future floor wax (still have a bottle at home) for my painted pool cue pike. Spray clear coat dulls metallic spray paints.

Yes, the sash was very long. I think the expectation is that you will wrap it around the waist. Doing this and keeping it wrinkle free and straight proved difficult. I decided to double the material and make a belt out of it vs a sash. Went to the fabric store and picked up some 'HeatnBond'. I folded the sash in half and ironed it flat. I then placed the 'HeatnBond' between the halves, followed the directions and joined them together. Next I glued Velcro on the ends with 'Shoe Goo' to secure the belt when worn. Am pleased with the results. The belt is now a little stiffer and holds its shape much better. Now if my helmet will just show up. :|

Ah ok good yeah thanks for the idea there. Was thinking along those lines as well as having the smaller strip just attached outright to the larger sash and using some velcro. And in the same boat as just waiting on getting the helmets now and getting them painted after that!

Got the two from FP which if I recall correctly they worked together and then split?! Something like that.

Your thinking about CP, I meant PA as in the State. It looks like mine is about 2 weeks out. Taking a bit longer than expected.

My bad. Mine was ordered from a stateside maker that was suggested on this site.

My wife's helmet arrived a few days ago. I ordered the kit version but it was held up because there was an issue with the primer cracking. Finally it arrived but the problem came with it. When I tried to apply paint I had one area that the paint would bubble up and even cracked wide open. I sanded the area all the way down to the resin and cleaned the area. I then applied more primer and then finally the paint. Everything looked good so I applied the clear cote this morning. I'll let it dry overnight and then put the lens in tomorrow.
