Did some work on the Force Pike tonight. The base is a ski pole I picked up at the thrift store for $1.50. I am following BrianTheSith's Force Pike build. Am awaiting the delivery of the 1" heat shrink tubing. Picked up the sink handle and other parts a Lowe's yesterday. Have the parts cut as needed and they are now drying after having been painted.

Am debating on whether to paint the ski pole chrome or leave it be. What do others usually do?

I would try silver. Most other pikes i have seen are out of metal that is polished.
The most pikes out of would or plastic i know are silver too.

Decided to leave the metal on the ski pole bare. Took some 400, 800, and 1000 grit sandpaper and polished it up a bit. The handles are on and am waiting for some glue to dry before attaching the base. Made the tip out of a hospital lab tube. Heated the open end a bit so I could flair it out some. Once the silver paint is dry it will be ready. Now for the spikey thing.

How many rows of "teeth" are on the spikey thing on the force pike? I need number up and down and number around. About how how long is the spikey thing? Is the color gold or brass? Am probably going to make one out of styrene and pvc.

Your polishing of the pike is exactly what I would have suggested. Since ski poles are already metal and designed to run into rocks and chunks of ice while going down a mountain I think it'll be just fine while trooping. I don't think there is an exact number of teeth as I haven't see an official ruling on what the tip actually was. I'd like to think it was a hob gear cutter, like the one on top but with the teeth golden like the bottom two. I have no proof though:

So long as ROTJ pikes have small teeth/rasps and prequel guards have rounded bits (o-rings) all is good.

Worked on Force Pike last night. Was all set to make some teeth and glue them to piece of PVC pipe and then I ran across this worm gear from a past garage door repair job. A little dremal work and some gold paint later and I think it will work.
