Nope, you are correct, the fastening should be concealed by the bucket. If it isn't it won't work for acceptance either. Good catch!JesterTDA wrote:Pike is great.
Like Stripes said, the inner robes are a no go. Just use the same materials for the inner robes as was used for the lining of your outer robe and you should be good to go (from what I can see in the pictures). You've got the pattern looking good, just the materials need changed.
The outer robe I'm concerned about that fastening. Will the helmet cover that up? Correct me if I'm wrong command staff but there shouldn't be any fastening showing.

The fastening is also of concern to me. It's both very very weak (it comes undone constantly) and makes me feel like the cloak isn't hanging properly.JesterTDA wrote:

If any one has - or can point me at - any closeups of how the robe connects and fastens and what kind of draped shape it should be making, I would be grateful,
thanks

My AoTC cloak is basically 5 panels (1 front, 2 side and 2 back) all connected. There is no fastner to speak of and it just sits on my shoulders. I am sure something similar could be adapted for an RoTJ cloak... just one arm slit (right hand) instead of 2.
To achieve it... it is a modified cloak pattern... the side panels are the sections labelled as "sleeves" that have been extended down to the full length of the rest of the cloak and not sewn shut.

My ROTJ outer robe just has an opening for the neck (like a t-shirt) and sits on my shoulders. The weight of it keeps the slit in the right place.

Thought I'd add in a quick update as I got my boots today!

They are Crow62's (despite the delay warnings that are around, it took about 2 months) and are very nicely made indeed, the flash has picked up the stiching far more than in real life and they are nearly 100% match to my outerrobe which, after getting TK9115's samples, is pretty much spot on.
So, just the inner, belt and gloves and find a lid sprayer.

On that note, he didn't ask for any payment until he gave me the tracking number.stripes wrote:Glad to hear Gio is slowly starting to get items out to those that have paid... nice looking boots!

Looking for some advice re: the belt "sash" bit. I see posts saying it's rope, but the crl photo quite plainly isn't rope - it's flat material sew with two rows of stitches to hold it in place.
So I'm wondering which is best?
