Having seen the actual screen used robes in person, I can tell you they were velvet... Velveteen is an acceptable alternative as it has similar fabric properties. As to velour, the only commercially available velour is the shiny, crushed, or panned versions.
Also, as this is the official 501st detachment, we will adhere to the listed CRL's that clearly state velour is not acceptable for approval. There is no need to spread mis-information to possible recruits doing research on this costume.
If you personally disagree with this, that is your prerogative, but spreading information contrary to the CRL's will not be accepted.
