I'll be shopping around for deals at bodyshops. Honestly, the helmet has a lot of pinholes and scratches that need filling/sanding, and I don't currently have the time to devote to it.

The FP box only had a slight buckle at the top. It's a very good thing that I ordered from FP, because he makes oversized helmets, and I barely fit into the pinch point as it is.

I can has bukkit?

The fitting went well, my robes are coming out nicely, the lightweight rayon velvet of the outer robe wears well and the linen of the thawb feels and looks great! The next step is to hem and overdye the linen to a darker shade of burgundy, add the lining to the outer cloak, and hem it with black satin.

Outer Robe:

Inner Robe:

Aaaaaand... With FP Helmet:

That looks still very great! The Robe is a little bit darker than them from FP isn't it?
Well, great Helmet too, but beware to paint it in the right color.
If not, there are two different Red-colors on you royal guard i think...or do you paint the Helmet in the same color like your outer robe?

regardless, it looks very great!! i am curious

Thanks, all, for the feedback!

I'll be giving whichever shop I take my helmet to a swatch of the scarlet velvet my outer robes are made of so as to be able to active the closest color match possible. I'm not sure about the color of FP robes, but my camera is not the best for true color.

The Outer robe is made from a summer-weight rayon velvet, which surprised me actually as to how light it really is. Granted, this was just an intermediate fitting without the lining attached... The plan is to fill out the shoulders of the outer robe with stormtrooper bells.

Next up: gloves & obi.

Question: how have people modified their waist-sash to allow for the hanging of accessories?

So long as you have a good deep red color (and from the pictures the robes look the right color) you just try and match the color of the helmet to that. I did many a walk-throughs of stores looking for the right color paint with my robe.

As for hanging accessories from your belt...I can't help you there as I don't do that BUT you could always use some nylon webbing on the inside of the obi with an adjustable fastener to tighten things up. Don't quote me on that as everybody's body is different but that would be my first solution.

Darth Skellington might be able to help you with attachments.
I carry a bag with me at times (cons and such when I need to be able to carry stuff).
I just looped the nylon string around my sash.

Suggestion for you about gloves, I recently hit up a local bridal shop that does alterations. There seamstress there makes gloves. So i took her some left over scraps from my inner robes and she whipped them out for about 20 bucks.

Alll the little fiddly-bits, as well as the robes are currently being taken care of by my seamstress.

Nylon webbing was the thought that might work. I thought I'd sinch up the inner robe with a nylon belt and cover it with the obi.
