Shadow Guard Questions

Post by Trailblazer »

So I am researching the Shadow Guard armor and have looked over the CRL.

I want to make sure, since I am on a limited budget, that I get the pieces right.

Chest is a TK
Bells can be altered TB bells
Shins and boot spats are Janog Fett
Back piece is an altered TK
Belt is built similar to an Officer

How are the abs and forearm pieces done?
What style of straps are used to attach the back and chest pieces at the shoulder and sides?
How does the ab piece attach, staps? And is it glued on or rivited?

Thank you for any clarifications and advise. :shadow:

I will try to answer some of the questions you have asked and I am sure our Shadow guard experts will chime in with others shortly:

1. The Abs and the Forearms are custom built pieces. To the best of my knowledge, no one has a kit form of these available as yet (some people have been working on kits, but nothing as yet)

2. The shoulder straps are modified TK straps.... rather than being ribbed like a TK/TX kit it should be smooth

3. Armour construction these days should rarely involve the use of rivets. Especially in highly visible areas of the costume. For my RC kit, I am using a combination of velcro, glue and strapping, it all depends on what works best for your physical build. I know there are a few build threads here, have a look and see how each person has resolved this issue for their build :)

Hopefully this helps.

I've been over the CRL and the belt is basically an Officer belt even though the screen grabs show it to be a little different.

I am getting ready to pick up the materials for the belt as well as the armor pieces. Will the CRL be changing any time soon?

It is an Officer belt with the two grooves.

TB bells are not the correct original shape.

ImageYou have to mod the bells to have that basic shape.

I understand the cutting of the bells but they do have to have the duckbill look which means moding either tK bells or TB bells.

The CRL also states that the kama must resemble the color of the armor. Does this mean if I do gloss black the kama has to have a gloss look?

The Kama, being fabric, should never be glossy

Thanks for all your help everyone. I will be getting the material for the belt and kama (which will match the flight suit) this weekend.

I will also be tracking down the gloves and boots.
