There is no colour code specific to this fabric as the shade of crimson red you will get will vary slightly based on each dye lot of the manufacturer. Have a look at some of the readily available reference photos on the internet and try to match as closely as you can. Here is a picture of me in my cloak:

Cotton and Velvet are 2 completely different fabrics

The problem is that they do not use the names Velvet or Velveteen in Sweden. I have no desire to sew up a costume and it's wrong fabric on it.

What I can get on Velveteen is something called Plain Velvet or Cotton Velvet.

Fouls that be right?
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Can you provide some photos of the kind of fabric you are looking at? This will help us determine if it would be an acceptable fabric to use.

Stripes is right...post some pictures, or even some links and we'll see what we can do to help out.

Just saw that IKEA had velvet. Do you think this will work? Here is a link.

Without seeing an actual sample of the fabric it's impossible to tell. Web images don't show very good detail for things like fabric.

I was and bought some samples of velvet today. I'll take some pictures so we'll see what you think about it. :)

My fabric came from the local fabric store (fabric land). I'll have to do some looking into wether they do anything online or not.
