Would these boots work?

As seen in the video game "The Force Unleashed". Now an approved costume!

So then these boots would be okay? The odd v-shaped notch would be removed or the very top part folded down.

Jack boots are one thing and officer boots are another. Jack boots will not be tall enough for the shin guards to look right in my opinion...
I'm not sure what you think jackboots look like but they go up to mid-calf on me, and I'm not a short guy either. They're height is virtually the same, they will both run from mid-calf to below the knee depending on the height of the person wearing them. The real difference is that one (officer boot) is more form fitting than the other (jackboot).
Don't forget, the top of the shin guard will rise up above the top of the boot, so you don't want the boots too high anyway. Otherwisethe top of the shin guard will cover the knee.
Here's a sample of what I came up with while making a template:

Maybe I'm splitting hairs here, but either way I think both would work and should be considered acceptable.

Okay I came across the web site jedi-robe.com and they do have some boots, though they are more for rebel costumes. But I am wondering if these would work for the FU Royal Guard. Here is the link: http://www.jedi-robe.com/123,1045,star_ ... tumes.html#
The boots are listed as being a jedi style but they are black and plain so am wondering if these would be 501st approved? Waiting for the answer on these. The company is in the UK so I would get hit with international shipping but the price is not too high.

I'd think those would be fine, but I have a feeling you're way overpaying. My black boots are the same boots that a friend uses for his Han Solo and I want to say I got mine for $25-$35ish. They might not last too long but mine look exactly like those you found, so chances are they are almost the same thing.

You can do a search for those boots by looking for Captain 100 - they are made by Funtasma (sp?) Thats what they are and you can find them a lot cheaper. They are tall though prolly too tall for the shadow guard shin armor.

Thanks for the info on the boots. Gotta check that website and see. Well maybe I'll start with the boots and go from there. Still gotta order a flight suit and figuring the armor for it.

Hey wondering if these boots would work for the FU Red guard. They do have traction/tread on the bottom. Here is the link:cgi.ebay.com/WWII-German-EM-Jack-boots-replica-/250774151481?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a634de139
