bucket availale on the 501st boards

Post by TR6386 »

for anyone looking for a helmet

there's a pretty rough resin cast of a don post helmet listed on the 501st boards. I was tempted to get it for myself (can never have too many guard helmets) but with being a dp cast I know it won't fit my head. The only reason the actual dp fits me is because i can flex the helmet a bit when putting it on

put if you have a smaller head...its a pretty cheap option

Hey I don't know if this bit is already known but shadowdalecreations.com has star wars costumes and parts for different characters, Imperials and Rebels. They have a Royal Guard helmet cast in resin with the option of either a red or smoked visor for $350 + s&h. I have also come across another site that has one made out of fiberglass, that weighs in at 35 pounds, for about the same cost. Which one would be the better one? I'm also wondering it the resin one meets the requirements of the 501st. That thought also goes for the fiberglass one, gotta see if that fiberglass helmet is still available to order.
On a side note shadowdalecreations.com also has costumes for other sci-fi show such as Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, along with other themes such as anime/cosplay and medieval type themes.
Thanks for the suggestions. Tony

It really depends on the size of your head. If you have a small to regular size noggin you can fit a Don Post with no prob. I believe the other helmet your talking about is from a seller we'll just call "F" on eBay. I hear a few guys have it and its pretty good from reviews I've read on here. I don't know anything about the size or quality of SDC so I can't say one bit.

I have a Don Post helmet that I'll PM you about if you're interested in it.

That is not a bad looking helmet but it's hard to tell from those photos. Mine is a fiberglass one and it's super light.

I've never personally seen anything from shadowdalecreations.com, but for $350 I'm willing to bet you can get a better deal somewhere else. Heck...get it unfinished for way less than half of that and you'll be good to go.
