Been a while since we have updated here, but we've been making good progress.
First things first, resource list:
-
Armor
3d printed from Galactic Armory and Great Ape (Biceps and hip plates), we might still purchase the torso and abdomen once we have assembled and compared a 3d printed version. We have also purchased shins from WTF just awaiting delivery on those.
-
Boots ordered from Keep Trooping (awaiting delivery)
-
Gloves plain set of gauntlet gloves purchased and to be converted
-
Under suit Fabric obtained from local fabric store and using Simplicity pattern.
-
Skirts and cape Fabric purchased from Germany (double sided heave imitation suede), these will be cut and sized once armor is fitted
-
Weapons TBC
Progress update:
Under suit
We purchased a maroon/burgundy cotton twill fabric and I am using the Simplicity 8722 pattern with the following adjustments:
- Added 5-8cm in torso length for comfort
- No external pockets
- One in seam pocket added
- Converted Velcro closure to zip closure
- Extended length of collar overlap
We will add elastic to the arms and legs to ensure a good fit.
Stared by creating a mock up with scrap material
Happy with the overall fit started the process with the twill fabric, obviously washed it first to account for shrinkage (bonus picture of my cat enjoying the makeshift fort from drying all the fabric.
Had to change the overlap a little to accommodate the zipper, but easily achieved by moving the fold line by roughly 1cm. For the second under suit I opted to cut a larger overlap than the pattern to make it a bot easier.
Happy with the first one, second one is in process, only missing arms and collar. Will then do any additional sizing required.
Gloves
Purchased some relatively cheap gauntlet style gloves, red pleather and filler material. Currently in process of creating gloves. Right hand I have done measurements and undone the raised stitching.
Will follow the steps in the build thread here on the forum.
Armor
We have one set of armor fully printed, in the process of gluing all the pieces together now for fitting and comparison. We've already sourced the paint (will get the brand and name) and the 2k clear coat.
