A question about colour schemes

Hey everyone!

After having to put several projects on ice - and with a multitude of different things getting in the way - I am *finally* trying to finish up on my RotJ guard project!
I have all my items, and only need to paint my helmet and then attach the visor in it.
Today I went to 2 different establishments offering painting services, but was stumped as to what exact nuance of colour to pick.
They had like 100 different hues and tones of red, out of which maybe 50 could potentially fit for my helmet!

So my question is as follows:
* What specific - if any - number/code on the RAL or NCS scale of colours is usually recommended for a RotJ guard helmet?
* Is it known what RAL or NCS tone was used on-screen?
* How exact must the helmet match the robes - is there some level of leniency with the CRL, or is it extremely strict in this regard?

My robes are from Imperial Boots, if that helps.

I assume this is far from the first time this question has come up, so hopefully some of you can help me!

It is always easier to match the paint to the fabric. Take a a fabric swatch and hold it next to the can lid. You want those two items to match as close as possible.

Yeah, that's what I did!
I brought my robes to both places, explaining the helmet needs to match them.
Thing is, they had several options that all were more or less the right hue.
So I'm not sure exactly which one to pick.

Exactly what Lucious said, helmet to match fabric. Even if you stall on robes, you'll mave a cool display helmet for a while

Thx, but sadly that isn't really helping since it's exactly what I've done.
I brought my robes and explained that the helmet needs to be the same colour, as closely as possible.
The store manager then brought out a clip with 100+ red hues, out of which maybe half could be right.

I need more... specific help!

Do you have a scu of which fabric bolt you bought from. With that info it will aid in helping with your color scheme.

My robe was bought from Imperial Boots.
I sent them a mail asking about it, but they didn't know specifically.

Hi its a matter of getting paint that matches fabric of course as you are aware so heres what i use to brush up any scratches that may occur. Its from paint shops and is a spray can of GLOSS RED INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR AUS EXPORT GLOSS ENAMEL. its an Australian brand and is fire engine red that matches my robes no problem. If you get near the colour youll be fine. There are a lot of guards that look oddball with imperfect matching colours so at least youre trying your best. Please post pics when youre done getting paint.

Just sending a photo to show how color match can work. I had already purchased painted helmet from a retired guard so i i took my helmet into a very good vendor in Australia. The lady went straight to a massive roll of double velvet crimson. It was most expensive velvet she had so she was all smiles. Anyway it was perfect match so i was lucky.

Approval photo shows how padding helps helmet to sit nicely.
