Well the painter really came through. Got a call last night that he was finishing it up and it'd be ready for pick-up today. Just got home it it, and it's looking very nice. He did a good job color-matching based on the velvet swatch. At the next fitting I'll be bringing it along with me to give it a proper fit. The gloss coat is quite nice, he said he picked one that would be easy to touch up with a glossy nail polish coat if it gets scratched.

Now just have to figure out how to mount the visor, and the helmet will be done.

Wow. Great paintjob.
You can attach the visor either with velcro or with magnets.
Just leave some space on the bottom of the visor and the helmet to get some air flow.

Been a bit quiet as of late. Been trying to work out how I want to put the visor in, and waiting for some shipments to arrive.

Met with the seamstress tonight and got a few photos. They are all from indoors under lights, but it was dark outside so I couldn't really do any natural light photos.

First fitting photos. The phone camera washed out the velvet a bit, but hopefully the two colors are close enough. :) Were taken this evening, otherwise I would have done them outside in natural light.

Replicating the draping on the front to a couple of the Royal Guards as it give a look of more body and flow. It's not done yet, as you can still see a couple pins around the neck. The hemming has still not been done yet which will affect the way the drape hangs. And I still have to get the visor into the helmet.

Boots finally arrived, and took them to a shoe place for a bit of stretching and trimming. They are a tad on the tight side around the toes and heel, but should stretch out a bit. Because of the price ($35 including shipping), I went back online and ordered another pair a size or two bigger which should arrive in 15-25 days.

Now I'll be able to get the hemming done, and hopefully make a few big leaps forward.

They were from here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-2015 ... 42650.html

They are women's sizes, so may have to convert the size. They go up to women's 13. I'm a men's size 10 which converts to about Women's size 12. I found the 12 to be a little tight, so ordered a second pair at size 13, which are in transit. I'd suggest adding at least a size or two to actual fit size.

They are longer boots (knee or so), but it was easy to sew/cut to the height I wanted.

The draping on this looks really nice. Good find on the boots.

Was talking to the seamstress and just have hemming left to go, as well as adding the liner to the outer robe. She said she should be done by next weekend, so I may be getting submission photos done up relatively soon! It's getting so close, and it's all out of my hands which makes it hard as I can't do anything but wait.
