Spycee and Imperial Fortress WIP

Post by Spycee »

Hi everybody !

We are 3 troopers from the Imperial Fortress, a squad from the Canadian Garrison, who want to have beautiful, majestic and fantastic ROTJ Royal Guards :tr2:

We ordered our helmets from gmrhodes (mine is already shipped !), and that's it for the moment. We are now checking for the other pieces while waiting :

- Force pike : are there good tutorials about how to make them ? We would like to try to make it ourselves if possible. For the challenge :)

- Fabric : we're currently checking that, still not sure.

- Boots : are Imperial Boots ones approvable ?

- Gloves : are Imperial Boots ones approvable ?

A subforum of information can be found here. http://forcepike.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=27

You want to look for a pure velvet or triple velvet. Stay clear of crushed velvet.

- Boots : are Imperial Boots ones approvable ?

This boots would be fine.

- Gloves : are Imperial Boots ones approvable ?

They carry both OT and Prequel style

Welcome from Canada as well.

I've got a ROTJ WIP thread running that covers some details of assembling the gmrhodes helmet, as well as building my own Force Pike from component parts. Feel free to stop by and ask any questions or steal any ideas from there. Lots of good knowledge to be found in these threads!

Thanks !

That force pike is NICE ! But I have a question ... I speak French so sometimes there are words I don't understand ... What is a rasp ?

I'm buying a 3D printer, does someone know if some parts are available to print ?

So we will probably order gloves and boots from Imperial Boots. Uniformity is the key :)

The rasp would be the gear looking section of the pike.

For reference the prequels used coils

Here is a site that has 3d parts, you may have to work with them a bit.

Thanks !

For the fabrics, after looking at other build threads, we would probably want to choose these :

Outer robe :
http://www.syfabrics.com/View.aspx/Plus ... et/689/264

Inner robe :
http://www.syfabrics.com/View.aspx/Plus ... et/683/264

These are still approvable ? Where I live there's almost nothing like that, so I must go online ...

How much fabric can be needed of each type per costume ? We are at least 4-5 to buy at the same time, we will add a little buffer just in case.

For the ROTJ robes they really should be the Velvet vs the Gaberdine.
