Reclaimer 57's Shadow Guard

Post by Reclaimer57 »

Just recently got all my soft bits except my Kama. I'm waiting on my armor bits from a local seller.

I also included some shots of my boots that took a bit of a scuff. The fake leather rubbed off. Any ideas how I can cover that up or repair them?

Thoughts?

Shoe Polish like you would do for Military boots.

Thankyou for the replies I'll get right on the shoe repairs.

Other than that what do you think of the costume so far?

Kama and Armor next, then finish the helmet. Do you have a pic where the split in the backpart of the robe can be seen?

Yup, while taking the pictures I neglected to show how the back seperates but if you look close in the pictures of the back you'll see the vertical line where its open. Ill either retake a picture so you can all see it or just wait till certification pictures to show it.

So I made a little mistake when working on my helmet. As I was removing the old shield under the visor to widen my view I was using a mix of a box cutter to slowly trim away and a pair of wire snips to take larger chunks out. While removing a chunk I had a crack spread in an instant over to the side of the helmet. It's a very flush crack. When not touched the crack reseals and deceptively disappears. My plan is to open the crack a little, fill it with something, push it closed then sand off the excess of whatever bonding agent I use. Now for those of you following along at home this is a Don Post helmet. What should I buy to seal the crack? Or is there another method I should be doing?

I would add some fiberglass to the inside where it cracked to strengthen it and then put bondo on the outside and maybe even a little in the crack, then sand it flush and smooth once the bondo hardens. Now this is just an educated guess but it should work.

I have 2 new pictures. As these are commonly the two things I have seen being questioned here is my shoulder bell and boot setup. Both are dry fits.

Shoulders are fine.
The spats need to go over the whole boot. From the ground over the boot to the ground.
