Sculpting/buck Material and a CRL question.

Post by ShadyLoiterer »

Correct me if this is the wrong subforum, but I am wondering what I should use for my first sculpting material. I am under the impression that wood/MDF can be used as a reasonable buck (once it's been sealed), but since I have never tried my hand at carving, I am wondering if I should try clay since I can add material back. I have heard that the downside of this is that you need to make a negative and then a new positive out of a stronger material before forming the armor.

As for the CRL question, Lucious posted screenshots of the placeholder from The Force Unleashed, and I have found that the shin guards are different in the CRL. In the game they have a sort of chamfer at the top and bottom. In the CRL, the bottom is curved.

Thanks again for the help. With these questions answered I should be able to start ordering materials and begin the build.

Here is the entry in the CRL:

I'm not an expert on the sculpting things. Clay would be best in my opinion due to the curves of the guard helmet.

As far as the curve in the shins. The best way to sum this up is they are rounded off to help the costumer
from cutting the fabric of the undersuit. This is perfectly fine as it is not an extreme curve.
