I don't think I can sand it down enough but worth a shot! LOL

Not sure but in the photo of your pike on page one that showed the whole pike the rasp looked to be too far down to me. If the rasp were farther up you pole the diameter will be smaller. Of course then your rasp will need adjusting.

Yeah the rasp is not attached yet just slid on. It's sitting a bit low but will raise it up when I fasten it in place permanent. Likely going to have to fill and lock it in on the inside but I accounted for that ahead of time.

Ok well sanding was a good try but it just isn't going to work. Pole tip too big and what I wanted to use for the cap is just too small an entry and can't be stretched open enough. :aww:

So while mulling over what to do, and just happening to be in the basement, I noticed this sucker sticking out of the giant box of toys from my youth. Tried fitting it on and dang but it fits really well. Need to paint it silver mind you, but the bottom is even flared out some and all I would need to do is cut the bottom fins off. Thinking it would work pretty well once painted up, and sits perfect with the rasp I think. What do you guys think??

And yes that is a bright orange missle from the 6ft G.I.Joe USS Flagg aircraft carrier. Ah the sacrifices for the holy grail that is SW!! :trsuit:

Figured a bit more painting isn't a big deal since have to paint the pommel black still as is so whats a bit more while waiting for everything else to come in from being ordered.

Caulking tips and such could also be used vs using a Sacred toy.

Hadn't thought of the caulking tip but honestly with how nice that sucker fits if people think it would work in silver as a tip I'm prepared to make the sacrifice! SW over G.I.Joe anyways! :wow:

Go to a local pharmacy and ask for a plastic medicine syringe until you find one that works well:

I used something along these lines for my pool cue pike. Removed the plunger and filled with epoxy putty. Put on the pool cue and it was good to go.

Thanks Jester. Yeah I had the thought originally to just do that as had seen others do it. I just happened to spot the orange missle and went hmmm and put it on the pike and it actually really looked pretty good so was wondering if it would work instead or not?!

Question for ya: I noticed that you used a different knob for the end than in your first photo. Any chance you could let me in on what you purchased?

Just grabbed the package here... It is a BrassCraft Crane medium acrylic handle assembly (with index button and screws).

I switched as this one was a little smaller which worked with the ski poles better, fit in the hand better and the inner lining flipped was perfect to seal and attach the pole to more.
