what to choose and will it be approved...

Post by VintageGmr »

OK..

So i see a lot of RG's sewing and getting their suits approved.

The one thing i am curious about is this: i often see these "flat" chests under the tip of the helmet on the robe.
I guess it gets approved, but not my personal taste, i dont like it. see what i mean on the pic below

I want to make it like it is in the movies and like it is in the star wars costume book. see below:

Since this is more like the movies and in the book, i assume i can make it like this and get approved, but want
to make sure before i ruin an expensive fabric. :)

Thoughts...???...

I'm all personally for making flat-robbed ROTJ robes not approvable and changing the CRLs to state that but there have been things brought up against that so they're still allowed. I know that personally the next set of robes I make WILL have that flowing drapes in the front.

Hmmm OK!.

It might just be me, but i think this is a bit strange. My friend is a 501'st stormtrooper.
When he got approved it was really strickt and tough. One would think one would get approved when the suit was "movie accurate" ?

It really does not bother me that other's get approved with flat-robes... I just find it strange... :)

Anyhow, i'm going for the draped robes and hope this will look as awesome as it looks in my head. :D

@VintageGmr...the flat robes like shown on the pic you posted are still approvable. But that´s not the way it should be anymore.
If you decide to start a Royal Guard built do your research as you already did, look around the board to find some suggestions. The best way to start is to find quality fabrics for all of your softparts. If your are lucky enough that you can sew start a pattern if not maybe find a seamstress you trust and she/he can help you out with your ideas.
That´s the way you will be most satiesfied with the endresult of your costume.

The FISD is a huge detachment as the stromtroopers are THE main Trooper charakter of the hole saga. The stromtroopers have a big part in the movies and naturally in the Legion. So you can research and do screenshots of that costume to become tough and strickt regulations.
We, the Royal Guards are just in the movie for seconds and mostly at the background. That´s why the beginning of our costumes and our regulations are not that what it used to be.
