Level 2 Royal Guard

Post by 21271 »

Hello

I have made a Royal Guard, and would like to get it upgraded to Level 2, to whom, shall i send the pictures?

And do we have a thread on this site about it?

Kind Regards.

To the best of my knowledge we don't have various levels of Guards. Those levels listed on the CRLs were part of a system-wide carry over and shouldn't really be there.

Jester is correct. There is no tier2 or tier 3 program within this detachment.

You either do it Right or not at all :) We agreed not to do this ... as alot of us felt that this causes elitism conflicts.

I know that there aren't any levels... do you think we could take down the term "level" in the CRL's than? Just so everyone knows? And just label the red boots, blaster, etc. as "optional", instead of levels?

Although I'm not 100% sure on this, as Jester said earlier, the page looks like it's a part of a system-wide 501st carry over. As such I believe the listing has to work within those parameters and the extra "levels" are always displayed, even if nothing is written.

It would be interesting to see if the headings/sections can be removed, but if it's a Legion wide thing it may not be possible.

Alot of that has to do with the coding.

*puts on day-to-day IT hat*

The database back end coding provided has a specific template that was written for all detachments. We as detachment command staff do not have access to modify the coding of the database outside of the text and photo elements.

There are benefits and drawbacks to limiting things to a single template. We can request a new template be devised, but it will have to be coded and tested by the legion database team to ensure that it doesn't break anything else. This process could take months, if not years, as it is deemed low priority in comparison to other projects that are currently being worked on by the legion database volunteers.
