Robe color question?

My wife and I went to the fabric store to look for a pattern(one that was close) and to see what colors we could find available. We managed to find a McCall's pattern M5957(sorry do not have a picture). We also found these two colors of Velvet.

Not sure if either is correct, any suggestions would be helpful.

You would be looking at the first one for the outer cloak

Funny...I'd have said the second one :) And thus starts the issues with determining the correct color of velvet...good luck! :)

Yeah I'm gonna have to stand on the side line on this. Match the Helmet to the Robes.

Thank you for the input it is appreciated. We will use our best judgement when choosing. Now I just hope she sticks with ROTJ and dos not change her mind to a shadow guard LOL. I have found a non painted helmet that looks to be of good quality so we can match the color with the robes.

I hope the helmet is not from Thailand. They are rubbish.

Mine is probably the second as it is still red in direct sunlight and doesn't look pink like the lighter color does.

Thats the same type of velvet I used for my robes. Its going to be very tricky sewing that.

Thank you for all the replies as it is we are working on trying to decide which color. I do believe the darker is going to be the choice. We received her helmet unfinished as so we can paint it to match the outer robes. It is not from Thialand. It will be kinda fun for her as we will have to pad it a little. I will try to put a pic up tomorrow.
