Where to get helmet painted?

Post by riboyce3687 »

Hey guys I'm looking at getting an FP helmet but I'm not made of money so I want to go the unprinted route. Does anyone know of any tips on where or how to get the helmet painted once it's on my end? I have heard about people taking them to auto body shops.

It never hurts to call auto body shops or motorcycle shops (they do helmets a lot). I also was trying to save money so I painted my unfinished helmet myself. Used grey auto primer and Krylon Cherry red which matched my robes. Did LOTS of wetsanding in between coats. Not happy with how the clearcoat worked out but it's okay for everybody but me :)

Cool, I talked to one auto body shop today that said they could do it. I wouldn't mind taking a crack at it myself but I'm not that handy.
