Just another quick update for you, Andy:
It looks like Leigh's partner is being released from hospital, and he has indicated that he will have some time in fairly short order to go through this build thoroughly and be able to give you more specific feedback.
Thanks for your patience!

Re: Andy's Build Thread
I haven't put you on blast. I have told you that your behaviour has been offensive and outlined what you have done that was offensive. You being in denial about this doesn't change that it happened, nor does it negate the fact that this is how your actions have been interpreted. Pushing, nagging, or...

Re: Andy's Build Thread
Hi Andy, I have been in communication with many members of the detachment, command staff and otherwise. It's part of my role as DPRO, DWM, and 'detachment mom.' I have had a lot of venting and frustration vented to me over the last couple of years, and always do my best to find solutions to problems...

Re: Andy's Build Thread
Thanks Andy.
I've continued to be in contact with Leigh. He's hoping to have some time to devote to this soon, but as we all know, RL emergencies always come first.

Re: Robes
The risk with doing it online is that you may not get it fitted properly. I found a local seamstress and provided her with the CRL and pictures. From there, she was able to create the costume for me.
KeepTrooping makes ROTJ, but it doesn't look like they make ROTS.

Re: Force pike question
Hey!
That will depend on your GML, but it's a pretty common method as long as you can get it to look good. I know some people use ski poles as the main shaft for the pike, and then just have to worry about the grip and tip.

Re: Andy's Build Thread
Leigh is currently dealing with some major RL health things. I'll let him know that you've made updates, but it may take a few days for him to be able to properly answer your questions and provide feedback.

Re: My Fast and Furious Red Guard Build
I ironically ended up making my gloves out of jersey. The inner robes were the suiting fabric, but the gloves are jersey. I took a swatch to the store to get fabric that matched, and it was extremely easy to make them.

Re: Types of Fabric
Late to the party here.
I wouldn't use broadcloth, personally, but you could. Twill is good. My gloves are made from 4-way stretch jersey cloth that matches the inner robes.

Re: WIP: Royal Guard from Australia in progress
Ooh I like that. My helmet doesn't have much of a gap and sits fairly nicely, but my garrison-mate has a fairly noticable gap. Maybe I'll show this to him.
