Int: Machined Aluminium Sabre Pike - UPDATE 20/9/12 (+pics)

Post by TR2203 »

Whilst in the process putting together a Shadow Guard a local engineering firm have confirmed they are able to manufacture a machined aluminium sabre pike. They were given a copy of the specifics of the pike from Hyperspace and have come up with computer drawing which after a few modifications am now happy with, which is as close as we can get.

The final pike will come apart in three sections for easy transportation.

Now the price....they have quoted for one pike but for two there is a considereable saving - £175 for a machined sabre pike.

Please note the pike doesn't come with a blade or electronics., p&p would also be extra

Unfortunately I cannot post pictures of the final pike yet but can supply copies of the drawings.

If anyone is interested please send a PM. To give the go ahead to produce these I would also require a deposit. First come first served.

Thanks for looking and reading.

EDIT - Forgot to say that once machined the pike will be powder-coated black.

I suppose it won't be shallow so it will be impossible to fit a blade and electronics in it ?

And I don't understand why the pike will be black, machined aluminium can't stay silver :?

but I'd like to see the drawings :)

Thanks

Blade and electronics will be accommodated in the pike - this has been already worked out. The blade will be fixed.

Regarding colour as the pike is machined from aluminnium it will be powder coated once made (colour still to be finally confirmed).

Please refer to my original post - 'Please note the pike doesn't come with a blade or electronics'.

This you will have to source and fit yourself.

I noticed don't worry, just wondered if it was possible for me to fit a blade in it or not :)

There will be just one pike for sale or they can produce more of them ?

Can you show us the drawings here or by pm ?

Things have moved on rapidly since I started this thread. Yesterday I saw the pike 'in the flesh' and boy-o-boy what a thing of beauty.

As you can see from the photos it comes in 6 parts which screw together perfectly. Just a couple of minor decorative things to add then off to be powder-coated.

yep the wraps around the top section which I used electric cord. That looks great. Quite impressed.
