This is a common problem when doing 501st costumes...you find yourself worrying about the weirdest situations and becoming obsessed with the smallest details.
I think you'll be just fine :trsuit:

It is with great pleasure I can announce the robes have been sold to a very happy client :)
While I aimed for screen-accuracy on the outer robe, I wanted something comfy underneath that would be easy to move around in while still meeting the standards. The neck seal was a last-minute addition, but I like the look of them with the robes.

And some detail shots -

The bottom hem is open, with the velvet turned up and blind-hemmed, and with the lining fabric hanging loose at the bottom, attached only to the sides of the velvet.
The sides of the outer robe were all hand-stitched, with the velvet rolled over the edge of the lining and tacked in place. Doing it this way means that the velvet overlaps the first 10mm of lining, and when moving the lining will be less visible. The last 2 images illustrate this, and this seems to be the way the movie costumes were done.

Whew! One set down, one to go :)

Looks real nice :trsuit:
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Very nicely done. The only critique I have would be that the middle part of the belt shouldn't be crimson red velvet but rather the same fabric as the rest of the belt...

I went by the CRL, using the images as guides for how everything should look. The image that represents the belt in the ROTS CRL (as well as the ROTJ and AOTC CRLS) is this one here -

There's nothing in the CRL that specifies how the band on top of the obi should look, although a lot of people seem to have one... The one pictured has a band that is clearly neither the same colour nor the same fabric :?

Dylan - the triple velvet came from Distinctive Fabrics Online :)
