Boot Question

Post by TRShep »

I know that we need red suede boots for ROTJ Guards, but we are allowed to sub in Jack boots until we can find a replacement. I was wondering if these are a good Jack Boot:

They seem pretty pricey and if you are also going to use it for other imperial costumes (e.g. Tie Fighter Pilot, Imperial Crewman, etc), the white stitching might be an issue. You might want to check with your garrison GML to be double sure, since it could be a costly mistake. One other option if you really like those jack boots is to "hide" the white stitching with some black shoe polish. I know other 501st members have done that with their black boots with white stitching. Best of luck.

Thanks I will check with my GML as well as keep looking for boots that might be more acceptable.

Checked with my GML and he gave me a thumbs up on the boots. I am still looking around though to see if I can find anything cheaper or without the white stiching as well though.

Alright got me some Jack Boots that were cheaper than the ones above the only thing is that they are alittle tight at the top. Any ideas about modifying them? I was thinking if worst came to worse I could get a zipper installed in them. Or I do something about my massive calfs lol

Are they lace up boots? If so then don't tie them tightly near the top. If they're zip-up already...same thing. So long as they look good under your robe all is good. The tops could be painted neon pink and nobody would every see so who cares. Of course that is not an official answer :)
