Costume Reference Library question

Just a quick question. I noticed this on the CRL on 501st.com :
3. Inner Robe: Burgundy or dark purple cloth thawb, hemmed slightly shorter than the outer cloak.
My question is since that says cloth does that mean Velvet or is that just any appropriate cloth that would work color wise? ( I know velvet is desired but would normal cloth work till it was gotten)
