Hi All,

I'm looking to get started making a royal guard costume sometime in october and am trying to compose a sort of "master list" of the stuff i need. First of all, can anyone tell me if these two fabrics are acceptable (i.e. weight and colour size)

Red Triple Velvet - Outer Robes (not quite sure if it's too bright a red) http://www.cheapfabrics.co.uk/thestore/ ... ts_id/1789

Burgundy Cotton Velvet - Inner Robes (described as "curtain fabric"??)

Also, here's the list of stuff i already have or am looking for:

Helmet - already got -paint prepped

Helmet Paint - Looking to use a halfords shade, but which one????

Gloves - No luck so far

Boots - No luck so far (also bare in mind, UK size 11 feet)

Can anyone confirm if these materials are acceptable or give me any ideas where to find the stuff i cant in the UK???

German Jack boots can be used as a substitute. Also using ballroom gloves that match the under robes will get you started into the right direction.

So the basic materials for the robes are both acceptable?

TK9115 On these forums can help you with UK based stuff (If you want to match the other UK Guards)
I've just used plastikote bright red on my lid (Hopefully gonna get it matched to the other UK guards)
