Please forgive the bathroom selfie.

What’s an ‘acceptable’ gap between the helmet and shoulders? I’m not sure sewing shoulder pads inside my jumpsuit would help or look good. Looking for suggestions. Spine curve is kinda bad, so that may be part of my shoulder issue.

Anyone ever have to straighten out a molded armor piece? I think I need to flatten out my back armor so it fits right. Would boil-and-pressing work?

Holy cow. Yeah thats not acceptable. Can we get a profile pic of you? So we can see the back and such. I found that pulling my chest and back armor up allowed the helmet to sit further down.

I just retried it and without the ab plate pushing my chest armor up/out, the helmet rests almost flush on my shoulders. I’ve lowered the chest and back as much as I can without it looking really absurd. Will try to take more/new pics after this weekend. I think velcrowing the shoulders directly to the jumpsuit (along with an elastic strap) will help too. Right now the bells are attached by elastic snapped to the parachute straps holding the front and back together.

Sounds good. Definitely keep us up to date on it. And more is better when it comes to photos to help with an idea of what you are working with. Im a pretty big dude and my stuff fits well. So i know we can get you there.

I did the boil and press on mine, but it wasn't painted. I'M afraid of the result if you try. If you have a big return edge on the lower portion of the chest piece, try to trim it more. That way, the angle of the chest piece resting on the abs plate will be smaller, and it will allow the bucket to rest better. Same as with the abs palte, try to limit the return edges. Also, if you can lower the chest piece and back plate a bit, it should help.

As for the shoulders, they seems too ''deep''. Go see my built, I had the same issue, and ended trimming them down.

Update after last night.

1. My shoulders are hanging too low. Will have shoulder pads sewn into the inside of my jumpsuit and add velcro to attach the bells directly to the suit (along with the elastic strap around my puny biceps). That worked well for my clone trooper. May consider magnets IF I can talk my seamstress into sewing them onto the suit.

2. I did the heatgun/press for my back plate. Should have been more careful but fortunately only wound up with a small crack on a return edge. Will glue the underside of it to keep from cracking more. Helmet should cover it. Even with that, I think it was the right move/only way to get my armor to fit right.

3. May have to actually shorten the ab plate, otherwise my chest armor wont hang low enough for my helmet to come all the way down. That will be a last resort.

Updated pics. Adding the snaps from the shoulders directly to the jumpsuit plus adding shoulder pads I think did the trick.

…and two pics with the rest of the armor. Adding some elastic at the end of my sleeves to wear under the gloves will keep my sleeves from bunching up,
And standing up straight will help with the rest lol.

Thanks. Its almost amazing how much lower the bucket sits now. And no camera tricks involved.
