General impressions: Image
  1. Three guards appeared in the episode, with no major discernable differences between the three.
  2. Each guard was armed with a different weapon
    1. Bisento/short halberd Image
    2. Double-bladed weapon Image
    3. Electro sword Image
  3. All armour pieces are finished in glossy red. Colour is uncertain if closer to Sith Trooper red, or Praetorian Safety red due to the limitations of screen captures and colour correction on shows. Best way to determine is to colour match an actual screen-used costume.
Overall costume takes elements from other established costumes and combines with new pieces.
  4. Likely no difference between stunt and display costume- screencaps from Episode 8 show the armour getting all sorts of dinged up and the paint getting rubbed off, especially in the backplate.

Also documenting here: the CRL will have the following General Construction notes to avoid having to repeat them for every item.
  • All armour pieces are to be finished in a glossy red finish and must be identical in colour.
  • Any 3d printed components must be finished in such a way that all print lines are filled and the surface appears smooth and uniform.

Additional information per Hot Toys 1/6 scale toy description and per this thread: viewtopic.php?p=32817#p32817
  • The CRL will now be called "Imperial Praetorian Guard: The Mandalorian"
  • The description will be as follows: "Clad in ornate crimson armor, the Imperial Praetorian Guards are elite warriors of the Shadow Council ready to meet any threat with a savage response. Their red armor was a deliberate echo of that worn by Emperor Palpatineā€™s royal protectors."
CRL draft google doc updated as of today.

During deliberation between LMO, Detachment Lead, and myself, it was requested that the following statement be added to the CRL, in order to ensure that GMLs are encouraged to approach the Detachment for advice and questions prior to approving this costume at the unit level:
"The Sovereign Protectors Detachment has defined additional optional levels of costuming excellence."
  • Due to the novel nature and complexity of this costume, it is highly recommended that GMLs consult with the Sovereign Protectors Detachment via <link to the relevant 501st Legion Forum post for this costume> for advice prior to clearance.
Draft CRL amended as of this post.
