Is this the kind of thing that you can feed into pepakura and get a paper model from that? I read ages I ago, I'm pretty sure it was here, that someone made a pepakura pattern (for a helmet) then fiberglassed over the top of it. If this is the case, then I'd teach myself how to use pepakura, how to 3d model and how to work with fiberglass just to do this armor. Would solve a lot of issues. However, I don't know how to model or use pepakura so I could be headed off in the wrong direction with this though.

I created this template based off of the comics to help give visual to a costume. I have just one more template to finish. Let me know if your interested in this. And Yes there was a a person who did that helmet.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing the 3d models when you're done. I'd like to make the helmet, but I don't know if I could make an accurate 3d model to put into pepakura.

Also, any chance you could link me to that post or the guy who used pepakura to make some of his kit? I can't seem to find the thread anywhere and wouldn't mind asking for some tutelage.

I've made a helmet using the pepakura, fibreglass & bondo method using files from Skip on the Dented Helmet website. At the moment it's definitely being classed as "Mark 1" as I'm new to it all and it needs refinement, but with a bit of work it's definitely a good way of making a scratch build.

If I could get the pepakura templates for the armour, I think I'd give that a go too.

If you do manage to finish unfolding the parts, let me know, I'd be very interested in giving this a try
