Been tossing around stuff related to a Shadow Guard costume. Found these boots on eBay, would they be appropriate?

Boots should mimic an Imperial Officer Boot which comes up to the top of your calf.

What's up with that "V" notch at the top of the boot? Does it actually look like that?
Actually the boots you want are called 'German Army Jackboots'. They are worn by Crewman, TIE and X-Wing pilots, Gunners, as well as Navy and Rebel Fleet Troopers. They will look similar but not have a form-fitting shape as those do. What you have there is a horse/motorcycle riding boot, which is what the officers wear.

Or you can fold them (inside) at the seem, so they don't show. Or cut that top part off.

I was under the impression that the Shadow Guard wore the same boots as Imperial Officers?

Nope, they're different. It's a common misunderstanding that people make but not all black boots in the SW universe are equal. Like I said in my earlier post, the boots you have shown above would be worn by an officer but not by a SG. I can supply you with a resource for boots if needed.

Hold up .... put the breaks on this one.

Jack boots are one thing and officer boots are another. Jack boots will not be tall enough for the shin guards to look right in my opinion...

See, now that's what I was thinking. Does anyone know what kivas used for his amazing costume?

I'm gonna go for he used officer boots cause of where they hit on his calf.
