Gday, my name is Jared and for the 1st moment i saw the Shadow Guard in TFU,i fell in love, this kit is my second attempt at a guard,my 1st i regretfully sold before completion to fund another build, but now im back on track and nearing the end of my Training as a Shadow Guard.
this is a Walt Trooper Factory kit i purchased a long time ago.i decided to order the Red kit as i thought the combination of red on black really Popped and looked great, but alas my heart calls to the black Shadow Guard.im a procrastinator and i am OCD for perfection,so this kit has been worked on and off of for the past 9 months...
1st i made the mistake of trimming to much excess of the helmet over trim which made clamping the 2 halves together a little tricky.
i assumed that the edges were sharp pulls so i flooded the joins of the helmet with glue, only to discover after trimming the excess away there was a decent channel of glue and space that needed filling and removing.i also used offcuts from the build to bridge the joins of the helmet on the inside to add extra strength to the joins.

next steps i trimmed the other parts of armor and sanded them smooth as some of the parts were not the cleanest pulls and had some defects.the helmet was the biggest task, trying to constantly bog and sand, bog and sand.then on top of that i kept finding tiny holes that kept cropping up or sanding scratches that would not come out, then i discovered the magic of Spray putty,Goodby every scratch and hole that plagued the helmet

keeping it short and brief, all parts are now, trimmed, cleaned, bogged, sanded.bogged some more, sanded, sanded, sanded some more.painted, sanded, painted repeatedly due to issues.my ocd played a part in my efforts, months of stop starting.i received my kama from a local supplier here in Australia, she did a great job but i fear the measurement i supplied could have had a few extra inches on the width to bring it further around the waist to the front.tomorrow i have only the clear coat to put on the helmet and then i can start strapping up the armor parts.i also need to find a seamstress to bring in the mid section of my flight suit as its somewhat baggy around the mid section.
