Grimwalker’s Build Thread/QUESTIONS

Just bought a kit of Helmet, shoulders, front, back, belly, vambraces, shins, spats.

They’re basically ready to roll. Weapon and soft parts are on me.

Question about the base layer: is the flight suit necessarily one piece?

Is there any recommended material for flight suit/Kama?

A flightsuit with shoulder pockets removed will work perfectly fine. Kama is made of twill fabric in a trapezoidal pattern.

I thought the Kama had to match the suit material? Can the Kama be attached to the belt with velcro?

Flightsuits are made of twill fabric. Yes mounting the kama to the belt will keep it looking right. I ran velcro on the top part of the kama.

CRL does show a one piece suit, so yes, it should be one pice. I used (along with most builds here) painters type overalls.

The CRL only says 'undersuit' with no mention of pattern so I don't think that is being addressed or policed at all. I just took my undersuit to the local fabric store and picked up a plain looking fabric that matched.

Check my build thread for the way I attached the Kama - Velcro on the belt.

This is the coveralls that I picked up on Amazon:

This is the fabric that I found at Joanne's Fabrics for the Kama:

The twill I used was "Sew Classic Bottomweight Cotton Twill Solid Fabric". They come in black, red and blue. The fabric will match the flightsuit.
