That's cool kivas. If you could just post more pics when you are ready and help answer a few questions I'm sure we'll be ok. ;)

Sorry to be a newb asking questions and all, but trying to start on my SG costume so I can hopefully get into 501st by Con 09.

Okay so I have a question regarding the outfit on Kivas.

The undergarment looks like it is still an Ao Dai pattern similar to that of the RG? Is that going to be an acceptable undergarment?

It makes more sense to me then the Jumpsuit option.

Also I know the undergarment/tunic on the RG are velvet as well, with a velvet lining on the inner robe. So what is the standard for the SG? All I got from Legion Membership office was the following...

And what does the Kama attach to?

01. Helmet--same as Royal Guard movie helmet expectations
02. Chest plate front--may be based on TK armour
03. Back plate armour--unique*
04. Shoulder bell--Unique
05. Bracers--Unique Left and Right.
06. Abdomen plate--Unique
07. Fitted under suit top--some give, not skin tight
08. Gloves
09. Belt Buckle--Standard Imperial Issue
10. Belt--Unique with trim lines above and below
11. Kama--simple and undorned.
12. Trousers--cut to allow freedom of movement--not skin tight
13. Full-height plain pull-up (laceless) boots
14. Shin armour--Unique, similar to Jango shin armour but sized to fit around boots with straps.
15. Metatarsal amour--Jango metatarsal amour might work for this.
16. Lightsabre pike--the image above is an excellent diagram of the weapon.

Optional; Cloak

So any clarification on this would be great....

The chest, Ab plate both look the same in the pictures here...

And where can I get a picture of the back plate?

This is what Wookipedia says about the SG..

Their appearance was identical to the Royal Guard, except that their armor and visor colors were inverted, with the full body armor and robe being black and the visor red.

Thanks guys

Sorry for all the questions....

Unfortunately that's all there is right now. At this point the SG doesn't have a CRL for it and Kivas is MIA lately.
I've asked the same question before and the simple answer is that first a few brave souls make the costume on their own using the reference materials that we have. Then pictures of those builds are sent to the Legion council for their comment and review. After the back and forth which will ensue, a CRL can start to take shape.

Let see if I can answer any of those -

I have only been MIA as I have one tweak to do - which will be done shortly as I just moved houses.

The under suit - is a full jump suit style tailored - and the Kama is attached to the back of it.

No one in the general public would even know what the tweak needed is, but we want to get this right the 1st time.

TK chest will work - depending on who's to account for different front taper
Backplate is custom - I worked with a maker on that and will divulge it once the full costume is cleared - as that supplier has asked to post pics on his site.
Gaunts - custom again - I made my own
Shoulder Bells - I used TB bells - but TK work better - use those
Belt - custom with proper lines, regular tandy belt blank - then I customized it
Boots - officer boots work perfect
Shin armor - custom ala Jango style
Top of boots - you referred as meatatarsal armor - this is not Jango style - it is custom -
Helmet - need to be customized to taper and fit with the shoulder straps properly.
Saber - All custom - I put a lot of work into mine, and only once the full costume is approved will closer photos of the whole thing be provided. - essentially - curtain rod, fx saber, a lot of custom made pieces.

** note - all surfaces on the gaunts and shoulder bells do not have a raised edge. ** all smooth.

Out of my entire set up - only 1 issue raised and is being corrected - suffice to say I will have it done sooner rather than later.
