Helmet fabrication
Helmet fabrication
Hi,I want to make a ROTJ guard and my friends already in the legion told me I should start by the helmet.Which material do you recommend for the helmet itself (no visor yet) and how did you make your helmet?

Re: Helmet fabrication
Hi and welcome. The choice of helmet materials comes down to PVC or fibreglass. I would choose PVC as it is lighter and if a crack occurs it can be rectified. If you crack fibreglass or any damages to it, you are unlikely to be able to fix it as it’s tricky stuff. Also fibreglass weighs a lot more than PVC. So the choice is yours depending on what you would prefer.

Re: Helmet fabrication
helmets come in 2 halves usually and need to be attached down the centre with a bonding agent such as plaster or other. YouTube or online research will help here.

Re: Helmet fabrication
Thank you for asking this question, I am also working on making a new helmet. PVC seems the best options as it is more durable and lightweight.
