Mounting an external audio pickup to a TR bucket

Hello Guards,

Just wondering if anyone has ever mounted a mic pointing to the outside of their buckets to pick up ambient sound. I know TKs do it all the time, but they also have convenient mic locations. I'm just getting a bit frustrated at not being able to hear handlers, fellow troopers and guests.

I can probably figure out how to mount the amp, power supply and headphones in the interior, I just don't know how to mount the external mics so that they're not super visible.

Thanks all!

Many folks use mics in there helmet. Anything that is able to assist you in your trooping is always welcomed. Just as long as it is no visible to the public.

Depending on how far the bottom of the helmet sits from your chest, you may be able to tape a small lavalier microphone to the bottom point, mic tip pointing down.

I'm about to make this for both my mando and TR helmet.

I'll simply mount a small mic near the bottom of the bucket, where it isn't visible, and for the inside, will be using bone inducers so there's no feedback, but great sound.

How much do the bone inducers run you?

I have mine mounted near the tip of the helmet. Works pretty well as long as the people are in front of me.

That's a great idea, do you have any guides to refer to in terms of putting it together? [s]I also looked at adafruit and couldn't find any of these bone inducers you mentioned, if you have a link to the product it would be much appreciated.[/s]

Edit: found the product.

I'll second the request for a guide. Looks awesome, but I'm no where's near smart enough to pull that off.

**EDIT**

I'm guessing that this is the product that you used?

Swapped out the battery pack with a sealed on, and extended the wires for the mics.
