Locally, velevt runs for 42 bucks a meter (Canada), the suggested link shows velvet for 10 bucks a yard, what have YOU used, what is your opinion of it? Locally there's an amazon shop that sells velvet for approx 12 bucks, I just don't want to waste 120 bucks on cheaper fabric unless it's good, please throw your two cents in.

Also being in Canada and knowing the weather extremes we are subject to, I would highly recommend Velveteen as it can be washed, rather than dry cleaned... it will still run you a good $30 a meter at regular price but I know Fabricland usually has it on sale for members at %50 off during certain times of the year.

I ordered mine from syfabrics, which is in the US. Even after the lousy exchange rate last year, shipping, and duty (I shipped it to my door, not to the US) I still saved about $150 over buying it locally in Ontario.

It was shipped and arrived at my door within about 3 or 4 days if I recall correctly, and that was not rushed shipping.

In my eyes the kaufman scarlet velveteen looks too "santa red", I really could use some help with where you got your fabric and (if you remember) what was the name of the color (ruby, scarlet etc.)

I'm 90% sure I'll be ordering cooldevo's fabric. Its the syfabrics triple plush velvet red (https://syfabrics.com/collections/velve ... 6836726828).

Note that you will have to colourmatch to your bucket. I have a rubies right now and the syfabric velvet might be too dark for it. My GML has advised me to be ready to repaint the bucket if necessary. Feel free to check my WIP thread at the ROTS-TR subforum if you want pictures.

What movie are you going for? The velour on the tag would make me worry- for example in a RoTS TR velour is a no-no.

I've send a message to the seller to clarify which it is since the two aren't the same. Keeping my fingers crossed.
