Buddy's Royal Guard Build
Posted: Thu Mar 02, 2017 7:52 pm
Before I begin, Id like to put a big Shout out to PChii (from the redback garrison) for being an awesome seamstress, and also to Redempress (TR) and Dannytheblue (TK), both of the Redback Garrison for there advice and support along the wayÂ
Â
I original was going for an Old School RotJ TR, but with changes to the CRL, and difficulty in obtaining the correct boots, have changed to an AotC Red Guard.
Inner robes:
PChii was able to source some nice burgundy material and has thus far knocked out the basic shape of the inner robe.

We are both not to sure about the sleeve width. Does it look to long??
Outter Robes:
Will update when closer to completion.
Gloves:
Gloves have been ordered from Maskworld. They are a Burgundy suede glove/gauntlet.
Boots:
These were sourced prior to the CRL changes. They are the Funtasam "Captain's Range". Very comportable. I plan to use them as an Imperial Officer and as well as a V for Vendetta outfit.   Â
Force Pike:
I made the forcepike from a pool cue. Couldnt get screw togther one. 48" pool cue....started with a 60" but that looked slightly ridiculous.

The Pommel was originally going to be a tap handle...but I couldnt get it right. Round 2 I found bits if piping I grabbed from Bunnings (australian hardware store)....I quite like the industrial look to it.

The grips will be Tennis Racquet grips. Thrown in some washers for good measure. The tip was planned to be a nozzel from Sealant tubes....but am having some issues with the spray paint adhearing to it.

I sanded the pool cue back, and used an undercoater on the cue and bits. Used Dulux Metallic Silver....it worked well on the the hand grips and pommel....but dulled really quickly on the Pike. Next I tried automotive paint.....seems to have done the trick

Seems like I have written a short Novel here, congratulations if youve read thus far.
How do you think the process is going?
What are your thoughts/ideas about the sleeves?
Any advice for the tip of a forcepike?
