Looking for resources

Post by BobaFett907 »

So far for my build I have found:

https://www.buyfabrics.com/p23057_crims ... mith-01837 For Crimson velvet outer robe.

Imperialboots.com for boots and gloves.

McCalls 8936 for the pattern for the robe.

I bought a Rubies bucket. Posts I have seen say that it is the only good thing to come from Rubies. It needs a little touch up though.

I don't have any other information on where to get the tunic, sash, and the rope.

Any help at this point would be much appreciated.

the under robe is a thawb with a 3 inch and 1 inch sash made of the same material. Depending on which version of the guard your doing it will either be Vevlet or Gaberdine.

You will want to remove the visor as in cold they can apparently cause cracks due to the screws holding it on. Also to be 501 approved needs to be darker or tintered with red mirror class.

I am doing a ROTJ build. Thawb? Is it not a Vietnamese Ao Dai pattern?

No as it does not have slits going up on the sides.

Vietnamese Ao Dai has a slit up both sides. Is there a preference though? Also, what kind of pants are acceptable?

With the thawb inner robe you won't need pants as it'll only leave about 3" max from the ground to the hem to be seen, which will just be your boots that go to over ankle height.

Just a basic thawb pattern that you can find all over Google should work. If you aren't sure post a link or two and the experts can weigh in.

Does the inner robe have to be velvet as well?

For ROTJ velvet is what you want. The outer robe lining and sash will be the same inner robe material. Optionally the gloves can also be made out of it.

I have seen some things posted about the sash and rope, but what are the colors and dimensions?
