Finally seamstress has completed outer robe. Shoulder pads are sewn in. Hemline measured to an inch above the ground. Neckline given a V for ease of wear. Here's how it looks before approval.

What material are your gloves made out of?

The gloves come from a retired 501st approved costume. They were sold to me with the helmet and inner robe and sash.

Ok today I took outer robe to a seamstress to redo side slits where arms come out as they were incorrect. It looks much better now and is easier to wear too.

What was approved many years ago to get in the legion, may not pass standards that are set today. A new recruit starts off on a blank sheet. The costume must meet the current standards to be approvable for trooping.

Good advice. Thanks. Today I took robes in to have shoulder pads fitted. That lifts the robe up nicely and squared the shoulders making the Guard look more formidable.

Hi. Posted this elsewhere but need advice.

Sent photos for approval but outer robe needs modifying.

Almost finished but outer robe has arm slits in wrong place. I can get seamstress to add arm slits to front where seams are but then where do the side pieces attache?

Photo shows arm slits too far on side.

The arm slits should be at front.

What is best way to do this without starting from scratch?

OK today I added front arm slits to see how it looked and am really pleased that it looks way better now.

Heres photos without shoulder pads or inner robe.

Are we on the right track?

Last photo here shows me pointing to where the seamstress will finish off the front arm slits. It needs to finish at arm pits.
