Allentown, PA Royal Guard

I plan on going full throttle on my ROTJ Royal Guard this weekend. I have had a helmet sitting in a box for about a year now and it's about time to get it done. The guard was originally going to be my second costume, but others took its place. I'm dropping the helmet of at a body shop today to have it painted should have it back early next week. Also plan on hitting the local fabric shop to pick up robe material today. So hopefully I will have something to show by mid-week.

We are all interested in your progress and can help.
Painting the helmet is normaly the step after getting the outer robe as helmet and robe color should match.

Good to know, I'll hit the fabric shop then the auto shop. I have tried WIPs before and they usually go from pile of stuff straight to finish goods with very little in between. I am the kind of person who once I go, I go. But I will start one anyway to post pieces as I finish them for opinions, because I want to look the part.

Especially when it comes to fabric, I'd recommend posting pictures here before ordering. Crimson red can be many different hues/shades to every vendor that sells it.
Keep in mind with velvet, take pictures in natural light, if you can. At the very least, if it has to be under fluorescent/artifical lighting without a flash. It'll wash out the red really badly.
There are a few in here that are quite good. Some do skip some parts, and I know mine definitely jumps around (forcepike to robes to helmet to forcepike to helmet to robes, etc). But definitely check out a few, even if briefly, as most will post the type and shades of fabric they order. You may stumble across some of them in your shopping.
