AOTC Guard WIP for French Garrison

Post by Kedrihan »

Hey !

So i'm opening my WIP (it'll take a loong time to finish this costume, i'll go slowly :p)

And i have some questions (well, just 2 now ^^) :

- For the boots, i wanted to know if those are ok (Click HERE), which are initially for horse riding

- And for the inner robe, i wanted to know the fabric i can use (i thought Gaberdine [this one], like the CRL says for the lining of the outter robe, but i'm not sure ^^) and eventually, if someone can give me a pattern or advice about how to make it (if not, i'll try without), it could be nice :p

For the helmet, i decided to buy it within 1 month to Kamino Custom (in the Sell/Trade forum), without paint&visor

Again, sorry for my english ^^

As long as they are not Rubber Boots. You will be fine. The Gaberdine will be fine.

I received my fabric for the inner robe !
I put it with my sh*tty TFU-style bucket made with Pepakura for the color comparison, and it seems good :)

Also, i finally decided to order my bucket from Amazon (it's a Rubies helmet), and i heard that i will need to change the visor, can i know why ?

It is a simple mod that you remove the screws out of the helmet as it can cause weak point in the cast and crack the helmet.

I removed the screws and i'll glue the visor (or maybe another one, dunno if this one is smoked enough)

And anyone know how to breath in this ? I guess it's pretty hard to breath properly when you have this helmet on the head for many hours

Many folks have put small fans in the helmets along with a gap in the lower visor.

Leave a small gap between visor and helmet when you put it in again.
So you will have at least some small air flow in it.
