The description of the material calls for wine/purple colored velvet for the under robe and the robe lining. I've seen some posts that say gabardine is acceptable. Could someone clarify this for me. I would think 3 layers of velvet would get rather warm in the summer. Also I found a pattern McCall's 2060 (Jesus, apostles etc costume) and was wondering if this would be a good starting point for the under robe.
Thanks
Larry

Re: Under robe material
ROTJ Has Velvet underrobes. The ROTS guards have A gaberdine bottem weight fabric for the underrobes.
