This is an unacceptable velvet?

Just to be sure, if it says 97& polyester and 3% spandex, then it's not acceptable, right?

Hard to say without seeing it but i would say not acceptable.

It also depends on the make of the velvet. You have Polyester Velvet which can only be dry cleaned or you have cotton velvet which can be washed. The one velvet that you want to always stay away from is Crushed Velvet as it is not acceptable.

I found a velvet that is 88% rayon and 12% silk it has a nice drape and bright red, I ordered a 'sample' but I wanted to ask your options first.

Looks good as far as i can see.
But pictures of the actual material would be nice.
