Hello there! I am on the smaller side of life, 5 foot tall and I am looking into making or buying a helmet. I am concerned that if I buy a pre-made helmet it will be too tall and even with padding and modifications, I won't be able to see out of the limited space for vision.
Does anyone here have a 9-12 year old around 5 feet tall in their life who has put on the helmet and been able to see out of it? or shall I just scale down a papakura file and begin to build it from scratch?

It all depends.
The helmet sits on your shoulders.
Does the space from your shoulders to your eyes differ from taller people?
I would suggest test fitting a helmet.
Do you know anyone in possession of a royal guard helmet?
If not, I will be more than happy to measure the space from my shoulders to my eyes for you.

I don't have access to a helmet to try on, I am still new to the community. I am hoping to change that.

I measured and the distance from my shoulders to my eyes is about 6 inches or 152.4mm.

Let me see if I can't get my "pocket Guard" To help guide you on this.

Mine is also 15 cm.
