Jumpsuit options

I was thinking of what to do for a jumpsuit and thought I'd toss a few ideas out there to see what you guys think. At first I was thinking a coverall like I got for my TIE but it looks like the fabric would be too stiff. Then I was thinking about a karate uniform. The pants are softer than a pair of dickies and don't have any pockets to deal with. The top does have the wide band that runs down the opening but that would be covered by the armor and helmet anyway.
Any thoughts???

I did find a basic Sleepwear pattern that would work well with this costume. I think gabardine is what I'm going to shoot for in making this. Don't hesitate to ask me questions on this. I've really looked at this costume with a microscope pretty well.

I don't have access to a sewing machine myself, although I have a friend that might help me out with that once she gets some more practice with hers. I was looking for an alternative that would cover my needs without requiring a lot of rework.
I'll definately be asking you more questions as I go along, I've seen your posts in the other threads and you're definately the most active person that I've seen in this topic.

I'm found of the over all flight suit approach .. the cost is about the same as a gi . and you don't have the issues of it being two parts that may slide apart and expose skin . Grant it if your just walking around odds of a gi sliding up that much is slim to none , but all the gi I have ran into have a distinguish stitch pattern to them .

I have a coverall suit for my TIE pilot and the fabric is stiff, not the kind of thing that would move very smooth when wearing it.

I was in Work'n'Gear last night and found these as a possible option for the guards. They're Chefwear from Dickies. Same material as their pants (though it feels lighter), a nice solid black color, and would require very little modification.
