AOTC Guard Sash/Obi Material Question

Post by Kashii »

Hi there,

I am contacting you because I would like to know if the two sides of the obi must be of the same material and color? Since in several photos of members as in the crl, the center line is a darker and shiny/bright color.

The center line of the obi/sash must have a distinctly different color?

Thank you.

The centre part of the obi/sash should be made from the same material as the rest of the obi/sash unless you are making an RoTJ guard where rope may be used.

Not to be a pain, but I am a bit confused. The decoration is the same exact material? Then how is it noticable? And the CRL seems to be a shiny ribbon?

Thanks!!

Its the lighting of the texture. It is the exact same fabric as the larger.

There isn't an exact measurement for both the sash or center section. I divided the sash into thirds. It kinda changes depending on your body size. For taller people I'd go for a sash closer to the 4 inch size and a shorter person would probably want something more like a 3 incher. But it is what looks best on you. I'm pulling up my submission pics to show the detail on the sash for ya

edit: And imgur isn't cooperating. Pics will have to wait till after class

Well, I will make the obi to be 10cm and the center part 2cm. ;)

It doesn't have a rope edges. it's the same fabric in all the obi.

I just cut the extra fabric and sew it back together again And with the extra fabric I add the center line. I can show you the back of the obi so you can see that I didn't made a rope edge style to it.
