Stick a fork in it, 'cause she's done!!! I finally finished sanding, painting, caulking, placing and trimming the bristles for the plumes. What a nerve-racking and painstaking process. It'll never be as good as TKIain's real horsehair version (because his is the gold-standard by which all others are judged), but I think mine turned out pretty well. Now to get some new costume pics for submission, then it's time to go trooping. Ep I here I come!! Thanks for looking

That is freakin' awesome and extremely well done.

You should be very proud of the work you put into this and the result you achieved. :D

FINAL UPDATE PICS (I think)

Just sent these in for formal approval to amend my previous Ep III version - I noticed after I took the pics that I have to fold down the collar of my overalls to keep from showing in the helmet and do a better job of tucking my gloves into my sleeves. Thank you Cabbagefarmer for the great force pike upgrade from my original. Thoughts?

Loving it!

Looking so good there although if you want to make it even better try shaping the plumes a bit (more so towards the bottom of the plumes).

Image

They start off at roughly 6 inches at the top and slowly curve round to about 3 inches at the bottom.

Will do! Thanks for the tip. I ended them a little long, going from 6" at the top to 4" at the bottom. I'll trim a little more tonight. Cheers!

Thanks again TKIAIN for all your advice and support! I trimmed the plumes as per your suggestion, but unfortunately did not include the pics in my submission pics. Here's a few from my last troop:
